  • Tickets checked before anyone sets foot on your site
  • GPS start and finish times, not a paper sheet
  • One invoice and one pay run, nothing to chase

How it works

Ten phone calls, or one form.

Finding a labourer today

  1. Ring three agencies
  2. Leave a message
  3. Wait for the callback
  4. Ask whether they're ticketed
  5. Chase the paperwork
  6. Confirm the worker
  7. Hope they turn up
  8. Collect the paper timesheet
  9. Argue about the hours
  10. Wait for an invoice that doesn't match

Finding a labourer with us

  1. 16:04 You post the shift
  2. 16:11 You get names we have already checked
  3. 07:00 They check in on site, you get a message
  4. 15:34 They check out, hours come to you
  5. Fri You approve. One invoice covers the lot

Same job. The difference is where the admin time goes.

  • 10tickets checked before anyone starts on site
  • 7day pay cycle. Employed, with a payslip
  • 1invoice covers the week, whatever the crew size

What it costs

Three ways to use us.

One hourly rate per worker, quoted before the shift, covering their pay, super, workers compensation and insurance. What changes between these three is how much of the coordination stays with you.

  • On call

One site, one day, nothing standing.

    • Tickets checked before anyone starts
    • GPS start and finish times
    • One invoice for the shift
  • Recommended

    Standing crew

The same faces, week after week.

    • Everything in On call
    • First call on the crew that knows your site
    • One invoice a week, one pay run
  • Managed labour

You stop coordinating it at all.

    • Everything in Standing crew
    • A leading hand and the roster on us
    • A no-show is replaced, not reported

Asking for a rate costs nothing, and none of this starts before the company, the policy and the licence exist.

Who we are

We sit between the site and the crew.

VDA Labour Hire is a construction labour hire company being set up in Sydney, to work Sydney and Brisbane sites from launch.

When we open, the workers we send are our employees. We check their tickets before anyone starts and run their pay, super and insurance, so a builder deals with one weekly invoice and a worker gets a payslip.

We are not trading yet, and we take no shifts before the licence.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask.

Are you licensed?

Not yet, and we do not take shifts until we do. Queensland requires a labour hire licence, and under the same Act the business hiring is required to use a licensed supplier, so this matters to you as much as to us. Our application is not lodged: it needs a WorkCover policy and a registered company first, in that order. The regulator takes 28 business days to decide a simple application. The number goes on this page the day it is issued, and until then nobody from VDA sets foot on your site. You can check any supplier, us included, on the public register.

Do I need an ABN to work through you?

No. If we put you on site, we employ you and pay you, with tax and super on us. Having an ABN does not make anyone a contractor.

How fast can you fill a shift?

The service is built around one rule: post before 6pm for a 7am start, and get names back or a straight no, never silence. We are not trading yet, so there is no fill time we can honestly quote you. Once shifts are running, the measured times go on this page, including the ones we miss.

What does it cost?

One hourly rate per worker, quoted before the shift. It is built to cover their pay, super, workers compensation and insurance, and none of that is in place until the company and the policy are. Posting costs nothing.

How are hours recorded?

Check-in and check-out on site, with the time and the location. You see the hours before you approve them.

What if someone doesn't turn up?

You tell us and we start replacing straight away. Attendance is recorded, and whoever does not turn up gets fewer offers.
